Mistake Number Five: “Failing To Plan Your Work and Work Your Plan”

OK, this might sound a bit trite at first reading. But believe me, this can be the absolute “Kiss of Death” for Affiliate Marketers who are not used to having their own business and therefore the responsibility for their own time management.

You ve probably heard this little saying before. Well, I m telling you, there is no place like Affiliate Marketing where this is more true and more critical! It s all about time management and working on the internet makes it easy for time management to go right out the window!

Does this sound familiar?

You start working, intending to work on that latest AutoResponder series that you ve been putting off.

You begin, but after a bit, decide to check your email.

You do so and find that there is a problem with a bonus item that was never received by a customer yesterday. You send the bonus and decide to make sure that two other customers received their bonuses.

Doing this reminds you that you meant to look into a new popin for one of your websites so you start researching that.

And then you remember …….

OK, the exact situations might not be accurate but the concept probably is.

Working as an Affiliate Marketer is a huge undertaking there is always something else that needs to be done. Plus working on the internet lends itself very readily to distraction. A “work session” can quickly become a “surfing the web” session.

This is one mistake that I find I must guard against constantly. Efficient use of my time as an Affiliate Marketer is crucial if I expect to have any success. And here s what I ve learned to do.

Each day, at the end of each day, I take five minutes and decide what the top three things are that need to get done the next day and I write them down, leaving the paper right on my desk where I ll see it the next day.

Next morning, I m organized and ready to go. I may deviate a bit but I have it in writing exactly what it is I want to accomplish that day.

And you know what?

It works for me! I bet it just might work for you!

So remember (and please, don t dismiss it because it seems so simple) Plan your work and work your plan.
