Which site would you rather purchase from? It s a reasonable question, so answer it honestly. Would it be the one that gives you a written description of the product, but unfortunately no photographs of it? You can read about the dimensions, if it is a physical product, or the benefits that it provides you with if it is an ebook or some software. All the benefits will be written down in detail for you to read.
When you download it, it comes in a zipped file which, once unzipped, has a PDF file, a web file and a text file called readme . So you read me and find that this is the instruction manual on how to use the PDF file that is the instruction manual for the software. It tells you to use your ftp client to copy the files to your server and to make sure that they are not on too low a level in your directory structure. Great! What does that mean? What s an ftp client , and what s too low a level ? What s more, what s the web file for?
Let s now look at an alternative scenario. You click on the links to a sales page on something that interests you and you see a person speaking to you. They explain in clear terms what the product is designed to do and how it can help your business. You are offered the opportunity to click to the video link, and watch it in action, so you do so.
You see somebody using the product to do exactly what you want it for. They show you how it works on video and explains all the benefits, but if anything goes wrong, don t worry. Here is what you do to sort them out.
So you buy the product and download two files One containing the product and one the video that shows you how to set it up. It explains what an ftp client is and how to download a free one. So you pause the video while you do that, and then start it up again to find out how to use it. After a while, you have installed the software on your website and it works perfectly.
Which would you rather have? With audio and video or without it? It is these audio and video sales techniques that can make such a massive difference to your sales conversions, and also to the repeat sales to those customers who were so impressed by their buying experience and the service they were provided with.
